NIGERIA @62.. I MEAN NO DISRESPECT

Arise o compatriots, Nigeria call obey, our national anthem sing. For 62 years we have sang this anthem with nothing to show for it. We have sung it as just the lyrics of a common song. The only service we give to our country is to go for NYSC. Even in that one year, we don't really serve. I mean, why serve when we can easily split our allawee between ourselves and those in authority?

What happened to serving with love and strength and faith? This has become a fallacy; we only serve in capacities that favour us directly or indirectly. Our full strength is seen when we serve people we know, people who tip us, and people with whom we exchange our service for something in return.

What about poor Nigerians with neither silver nor gold? What happens to them?

Okay! How about serving with love? LOVE?
You've got to be kidding; are you not in Nigeria?
Yes, I'm in "the Nigeria" where love is described as a scam. To say "I love you" translates to "I want something from you". So yes, I'm still living in Nigeria, where love is used as a decoy to get human parts for money rituals. In Nigeria, where love doesn't mean love but hate instead.
.

My country, Nigeria, your country too. No matter how many times you denounce her, your identity doesn't change. No matter how many times you lay curses on her, you are either from the east, west, north, or south with your NIN as a reminder and your international passport labeling you as Nigerian even if you japa.

How about serving with faith? Don't even go there. Our faith doesn't serve us any more, because in Nigeria " work without work is dead." We depend solely on what our work can provide before Sapa remembers our address. Lost faith in Nigeria has become worse since Buhari became president. Everyday is a war against Sapa, war against insecurity, war against inflation, war against unemployment, war against Asuu. The birthing of a new day is waking up to new wars and new struggles because this Nigeria has moved from the country our heroes of the past died for, to a country that kills its survivors in cold blood.

Don't say how?! Let me remind you of the massacre at Lekki toll gate, the ban on trading crypto currencies, the increased vat rates we pay per call, the restrictions on our ATM cards, the deterioration of our educational system, and the end of the SARS SAGA. That's how they killed and kept killing their survivors. Yet when another opportunity came for "who wants to be president of Nigeria", #100 million was paid for a paper.

Don't worry yourself because the labour of our heroes past is already in vain. The fight for freedom is defeated because, even with the taste of civilization, our freedom of speech is now bondage of speech. You talk , they come for you.

This is Nigeria. Welcome to Nigeria!
Welcome to Nigeria, where the law-abiding citizens are the poor masses with no money to upgrade to the other side. Welcome to Nigeria, where money is the green card to live above the law.

Nigeria! Nigerians, for how long do we continue to waste away? For how long do we put our selfish interests first before the interests of our country? For how long do we gamble the future of our country for a mere 200k? That can never be the same in the next 4 years if another replica takes over.

Are you not tired? I am tired. At least I know my neighbors are tired too. Small businesses are tired, unemployed citizens are tired, the poor and sick ones are tired, the lecturers and students are tired too. Our parents are tired of training unemployed graduates.

I ask you again, are you not tired?

Tracing history someone said, Nigerians only wake up every 2 decades. Now is that time of the year. Don't sell your rights any more, don't think of just the now but also about the future. Abandon bias and tribalism, and embrace good Leadership. You and I know that among all the aspiring candidates, only but one man truly have our best interest at heart.

Wake up Nigeria! No sleep again! No collect money!
Use your power, it lies in your PVC!

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Happy independence day🇳🇬

  1. This is a beautiful write up. It's quite unfortunate what our country is becoming. Not until we all humble ourselves and seek the face of God to heal our land, we can't attain anything. Even if we vote, don't we have rigged elections. Our Elections aren't actually free and fair.

  3. A new Nigeria is coming and I strongly believe in this. Very soon this painful story will become history that we'll be telling the unborn generation.
